Each player receives five hole cards, with the first bet made by the player seated immediately clockwise from the big blind. This position is known as “under the gun.” Afterwards, wagers are placed by each subsequent player, continuing around the table clockwise.

After seeing their hole cards, each player can decide how to play their hand by calling or raising the big blind. The action begins to the left of the big blind, which is considered a “live” stake. This person may raise, call, or fold. For example, if the big blind is $2, calling costs $2, and raising costs at least $4. The action then circles the table in a clockwise direction.

Each round of betting lasts until all the players who are still in the game and haven’t folded have contributed equal stakes to the pot.

The first three community cards, or the “flop,” are dealt face-up on the board after the initial round of betting is over. All active players have access to these cards. The player instantly rotates around the button to resume play, and then there is another round of betting.

The fourth community card, known as the “turn,” is dealt face-up on the board following the conclusion of betting on the flop. The action immediately moves clockwise around the button, and another round of betting follows.

The fifth and final community card, known as the “river,” is dealt face-up on the board after all bets on the turn have been placed. The active player begins play by pressing the button and moving directly clockwise to the last betting round.

The last person to bet or raise, if there are still people in the game after the final round of betting, will disclose their cards first. This player displays their cards by going clockwise from the button if no bet was placed. The person with the best five-card hand wins the pot. In 5 Card Omaha, you must use exactly two cards from your hand and three from the community cards to form your best five-card hand. The prize is divided equally between the players who have winning hands if identical hands occur.

Pot Limit 5 Card Omaha

In Pot Limit 5 Card Omaha, the minimum bet is the big blind, but players can bet up to the pot.

Minimum Raise: Must be at least the same amount as the wager or rise from before. A player may wager $5, for instance, and the subsequent player must raise by at least $5 to make a total bet of $10.

Maximum Raise: In Pot Limit 5 Card Omaha, the maximum raise is calculated by adding the current size of the pot and any prior bets and calls. For example, if the pot is $100 and no one has bet yet, the maximum raise would be $100.

Example: A player can bet up to $100 if the pot is $100 and nothing has been bet so far. After that bet, the next player can either fold, call $100, or raise all the way up to $400. If someone raises $300, the pot grows to $400, and the total bet is also $400.

There is no limit on how many times you can raise in Pot Limit 5 Card Omaha.

No Limit 5 Card Omaha

The minimum bet in No Limit 5 Card Omaha is equal to the big blind, but players can wager any amount up to the full stack.

Minimum Raise: Must be at least the same as the wager or raise from the previous round. For example, if a player bets $5 to start, the next player must raise by at least $5 to gamble $10 in total.

Maximum Raise: Restricted solely by the player’s stack size or all the chips on the table.

There is no maximum amount of raises that may be made in No Limit 5 Card Omaha.
